I just had a conversation with Kurt Hornik, the original author of EOS. Turns out it's been decades since he last used Octave and he's also no longer the maintainer of EOS. Furthermore, the information provided in this article are severely outdated since the code given here will prevent major functionalities to not be available. I propose someone who actually knows his stuff updates this page.

I suggest removing > (autoload 'octave-mode "octave-mod" nil t) from section Using Octave Mode number 1., since it will result in failure. Source: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-octave/2015-07/msg00291.html

Outdated Information[edit]

I just had a conversation with Kurt Hornik, the original author of EOS. Turns out it's been decades since he last used Octave and he's also no longer the maintainer of EOS. Furthermore, the information provided in this article are severely outdated since the code given here will prevent major functionalities from working. I propose someone who actually knows his stuff update this page. --Pythagoras (talk) 09:07, 25 April 2018 (PDT)
