one of the developer meeting discussions prior to 6.1 release mentioned doing an upload of the windows version to virustotal.com before release. never did get added to the official 6.1 release checklist, but would it be worth adding, and if so at what stage? each RC? I've also never tried uploading the full install package to know if there's a filesize issue. Last, when 5.3(?) was triggering the virus scanners, the executable installer triggered differently than the installed versions.
